Hotmelt adhesives

Hotmelt adhesives can be used to bond every kind of edgebanding including: ABS, PVC, 3D, melamine and veneer. To get a good result in bonding the edgebanding and board should be stored at room temperature at least not less than 18°C.
The moisture content of the board should be between 8 and 10%. As each hotmelt requires its individual temperature at the applicator roll and feed speed please refer to the technical datasheet in our download area.
The strength and resistance of the bonds depend, among other things, on the percentage of joint surface that has really been bonded together.

Water based adhesives

Water based adhesives are used in post-forming machines and flat presses to bond HPL or CPL panels. Application is generally made with spray guns or roller applicators depending on the use.
For postforming, to obtain a good result the profile on the substrate must correspond with the pressure rollers and be cleanly cut; the transitions in particular must be perfectly formed. The coating material like HPL/CPL sheets or polyester laminates must be suitable for post-forming. PUR adhesive

PUR is an abbreviation for PolyURethane and includes several distinctly different adhesive types just like hot melt or liquid adhesive and is used for many different applications.
PUR hot melt adhesive – usually supplied as cartridges – should be applied at a typical temperature about 120°C. The materials to be bonded should be at room temperature as the adhesive sets quickly as it cools.
The liquid form of PUR adhesive should be applied at room temperature (about 18 – 20°C). As it cures by moisture in the air and in substrates, the package shouldn’t be left open for a long time.

PU dispersion

Polyurethane Dispersions are used for a wide range of applications. The minimum temperature of materials, adhesive and the ambient air should be at least 15°C.
If containers are once opened they have to be used continuously.


Primer is applied to plastics and other materials to enable them to bond to other materials. Application of primer with a plastic surface is either done with a brush, roller or applicator. Surfaces should be dry prior to application. Best results may be achieved on timber if two coats are applied.
Even coating is essential and surfaces must be free of dust and grease. Tolerances in thickness can cause irregular glue spreads resulting in prolonged setting times and reduced bond strengths.
